A Year in Motion

Looking Back on a Whirlwind Season of Growth, Love, and New Beginnings

It’s been a while since I’ve written here. April 1 was my last post, and somehow it feels like both yesterday and three years ago. A lot of life has happened since then, and today I finally felt inspired to sit down, look back through the pictures on my phone, and put some words together. Maybe it’s the season. Maybe it’s the pace I’ve been keeping. Maybe it’s the simple gratitude of being right where I’m supposed to be.

Either way… here we are.

If there’s one thing I know for sure, 2025 has been a whirlwind.

The Year Started With a Vision

After getting engaged last September, I went into this year knowing it was going to be special. I knew 2025 would be a year of solidifying my relationship with Wendy — not in a “planning mode” kind of way, but in the sense of building a life with someone who truly feels like home.

Today we have been married three months… and I can honestly say it’s everything I’ve ever wanted and everything I always hoped I’d find. She’s the right person for me. I feel like I finally have the relationship I deserve.

January: Conferences, Panels, and a Hip Replacement

We kicked off the year at JobTread Connect in Dallas. It was my first trade show booth, and we met a bunch of great people. I took a photo of myself on the main stage in the ballroom — because hey, if you don’t dream big, big things don’t happen. Funny how a picture like that can light a fire.

I had the chance to moderate a panel of contractors, which felt good. It felt natural. It felt like something I want more of in my life.

Later that month, things got real. Wendy had her hip replaced, and that set the tone for the next couple of months. Recovery. Patience. Caregiving. Perspective. It took a lot out of her, but she handled it like a champ.

February & March: Recovery, Book Launch, Lawsuits & Life

Those two months were mostly recovery mode, but a lot happened in the middle of it.

My book, Finding Your Edge, launched in February, and I was humbled by everyone who showed up to support me. It was special. And we held our second Edge LIVE event, where Steve Rozenberg flew in to speak. That event deepened my relationship with Steve in ways I didn’t expect — something that would later play a very big role in how this year unfolded.

Then, in the middle of all this, I was served with a $50,000 lawsuit from a project I was involved in a few years ago. I’d never been “served” before. It rattled me. I’ve spent my career trying to do things right, and being tangled up in something like that didn’t sit well. People suck sometimes. Facts of life.

Thankfully it’s been resolved now, but it wasn’t fun. Not at all.

Wendy kept recovering. We escaped to camp a bit. And I got the branding for Summit Coaching finalized with Tyler Kirk. All while keeping an eye on my neighbor Jimmy — my “Tuesdays with Morrie.” His health has been a fight for the last year and a half. Some days he’s up. Some days he’s not. But he keeps battling.

In late March, Wendy signed us up for a cornhole fundraiser… and we got absolutely smoked by the pros. Somehow I won the lower bracket thanks to a much more talented partner. I’m still laughing about that one.

April & May: Hiking, Momentum, and More Speaking

By April, Wendy was climbing Pleasant Mountain again. She started getting her legs back, literally and figuratively.

I kept my #Live365 streak alive — every day, no matter what. And in May we headed to Houston for Steve’s 2-Day Takeoff event, where I coached, spoke, and realized that those daily lives have made me a lot more comfortable on stage. Funny how consistency creates confidence.

Those months were full of conversations with Steve about what it might look like if we started working more closely together. At the same time, I got to spend time with Bailey and her new boyfriend, Tyler — and he seems like a keeper. Seeing her happy makes everything else feel right.

I kept wrestling with the weight and sleep battle that’s been going on for a few years now. I think I’m finally starting to win, but it hasn’t been easy.

June & July: Transitioning Into The Rozenberg Group

June and July were all about two things:

Wedding prep.
Transitioning into my new role as Head Coach of The Rozenberg Group.

The coaching transition was big. Deep. Meaningful. I’ve always heard:

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

This is me choosing “together.”

We had more trips to Houston, and then the crazy idea that became Mach 5. We pulled together a high-level business event in under 90 days and had almost 100 people show up. It was a beast to build, but it planted our flag:
We’re here. We’re not going anywhere.

All this while Wendy and I were building our wedding arbor and mapping out my parents’ backyard for August 16th.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget those weeks.

August: The Best Day.

On August 16, surrounded by friends and family in my parents’ backyard, Wendy and I got married.

It was perfect.

Everything landed exactly like it was supposed to. The weather. The people. The feeling. All of it.

We celebrated afterward with slow days at camp — charcuterie, sunshine, and doing absolutely nothing. One of the better times of my life.

We explored Baxter State Park, the ice caves, and a bunch of the places Wendy loved as a kid. I love seeing her in those spaces — she lights up and starts telling stories about her dad. It’s special.

Oh — and we climbed Mount Washington twice this summer. Not bad for someone with a new hip.

September & October: Retreats, T-Shirts, Mach 5 & More

September brought day trips, dinners with friends, and more time at camp. With internet fast enough, we’ve started to realize… we can work from anywhere.

I hosted a retreat at camp with some coaching clients and friends — one of the best weekends of the year. Everyone leveled up.

October was Mach 5 — a huge week of lifting, speaking, and creating momentum for The Rozenberg Group. I spoke again, and honestly, I love it. It feels like the next chapter of my professional life.

Wendy launched her Love & Kindness Threads t-shirt movement, and as I expected, people got behind her right away. She has such a big heart. She leads with kindness, and people feel that. I couldn’t be more proud.

Bailey also leaned into her entrepreneurial side and launched Datey, a singles event network in Dallas. She and her friend Abby are killing it, and seeing her build something of her own is… well, let’s just say I’m proud of that girl.

Later in October, Steve, Bubba, and I attended the Hardscape North America show in Louisville. Long days at the booth, lots of conversations, and plans already forming for what we’ll change next year.

We got my mom up to camp for a full week and explored Baxter with her. Time well spent.

November: Speaking, Traveling, and Connection

We recently got back from the MidSouth Pond Retreat in Memphis, where I spoke, coached, and hung out with a bunch of people I care about. Then we headed to Dallas for JobTread Boot Camp. If you know me, you know JobTread has a special place in my heart. I was one of their early customers, and I’ve watched them grow. They feel like family.

Now we’re here, with about six weeks left in the year. Next week I’m in Vegas, then home, then back to Houston for ten days. When it’s all over, I’ll be ready for the holidays and a little stillness.

Bailey comes home Thursday for an early Thanksgiving before heading back to Dallas.
Family dynamics change as kids grow up. You want traditions, but you also want them to be where they’re happy. Nothing’s forever, and that’s part of why I try to live intentionally every single day.

Today I’m going to see my friend Jimmy. He’s fought hard this year, and I want to catch him up on everything. Traveling so much makes it tough to be there consistently, but the moments we do get matter.

Why I Felt Inspired Today

I don’t know why today was the day I felt like writing again.
Maybe it’s gratitude. Maybe it’s perspective. Maybe it’s just time.

But I’m thankful — for the people in my life, for the opportunities, for the lessons, for the momentum, for the setbacks, for all of it.

I’m finally in a place where I feel like I’m exactly where I should be.
Moving forward.
Building something meaningful.
Loving the people around me.
And looking ahead with excitement.

Thanks for being part of this journey.
And as always — if I can help you in any way, please let me know.

Right Where I Am Supposed To Be

Reflecting on the journey since launching Summit Coaching & Consulting on January 1, 2023, it's remarkable to see how far we've come. Entering our third year, I'm filled with gratitude for the incredible clients I've had the privilege to work with and the vibrant communities we've built together. This April, I'm setting an ambitious goal: to welcome five new clients into our fold, further expanding our collective growth and impact.

Building this coaching business has been an intensive endeavor, demanding countless hours of dedication and perseverance. Yet, I've never felt more energized or passionate about my work. This season of building is both challenging and exhilarating, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The joy I find in this process reaffirms that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.

Our community initiatives have been central to this journey. The Edge Skool Community Free Group has blossomed into a supportive space where individuals come together to share insights and encouragement. For those seeking a deeper engagement, The Edge Live Paid Skool Community offers structured coaching and resources tailored to facilitate significant breakthroughs. Our one-on-one coaching sessions provide personalized guidance, fostering profound transformations. The Peak Facebook Group serves as a hub for our one-on-one coaching clients, promoting continuous interaction and support. Additionally, The Summit, our free Facebook group, welcomes all who are on a journey of personal and professional development.

Our commitment to consistent engagement is evident through our weekly and biweekly Zoom calls and webinars. These sessions have become invaluable touchpoints, allowing us to connect, learn, and grow together. The Summit Podcast has further extended our reach, featuring conversations with inspiring individuals who share their stories and insights, enriching our collective experience. Being a guest on other podcasts and contributing through writing blogs have also been rewarding avenues to share knowledge and connect with a broader audience.

In February, I released my first book, Finding YOUR Edge. The process of writing a book was both agonizing and thrilling. I was humbled by the amount of people that turned out for the book launch, and how well received the book has been. It serves as a way to get to know me and provoke some inspiration in the reader. I think it is a creative way to weave my experience as a business owner with my endurance as an athlete into life and business lessons for all.

A highlight of our journey has been the successful hosting of two Edge Live events. These gatherings brought together individuals from across the country, fostering connections and facilitating impactful personal and business development.Witnessing the tangible benefits these events have had on attendees reinforces the importance of community and shared growth.

On a personal note, the past couple of years presented challenges with injuries and surgeries for both Wendy and I. However, I'm thrilled to share that recovery has been positive, and we are eagerly anticipating a return to the hiking trails this summer. Conquering many of Maine and New Hampshire's 4,000-footers is on the agenda, and the prospect of immersing in nature's beauty once again is invigorating.

As I navigate this path, I find profound fulfillment in helping others achieve their goals. Ironically, in filling others' cups, I find my own cup overflowing. There comes a stage in life where the desire to make a meaningful impact and contemplate one's legacy becomes paramount. For me, that legacy is rooted in the work I've done to uplift others. I aspire for my daughter to know that her father made a difference in the world, driven purely by the passion to serve, without expectation of return.

If you're seeking guidance, support, or a community to embark on your own journey of growth, I invite you to reach out. Let's set up a call to explore how coaching can be a good fit for you. Together, we can chart a path toward achieving your aspirations and unlocking your fullest potential.

Here's to continued growth, shared successes, and the adventures that lie ahead.

90 Days In—and Just Getting Started

When I first hit “Go Live” 90 days ago, I wasn’t chasing perfection. I wasn’t trying to become the next viral personality or drop world-shaking wisdom. I was simply trying to show up—consistently—and bring something of value to the table each day.

That’s it.

Every morning at 8 AM Eastern, I go live on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. And over the last 90 days, I’ve talked about sales strategies, limiting beliefs, procrastination, mindset, and even that ever-present “head trash” we all deal with. Some mornings I’m fired up, others I’m just figuring it out like the rest of us. But I always hit that button. And I always show up.

Because to me, that’s my edge—being the example.

Not from a place of arrogance or “look at me,” but simply by walking the walk. Consistency over hype. Discipline over motivation. Effort over ego.

And it’s been cool to see how many people have messaged me to say they start their day with these videos. That they get a nugget here or a bit of perspective there. That it helps. That it matters.

That’s what keeps me going.

I sprinkle in some humor. I talk about real stuff. I build community with the folks who show up. And selfishly? It scratches that itch for me—community, connection, and refining my craft as a speaker and coach.

Is it hard sometimes? Yeah. It’s tough to show up when life is chaotic or when the schedule is tight. But that’s the whole point. I committed to doing 365 days in a row, and I was so excited to begin, I started five days early.

We’re now 90 days in, with 275 to go.

And honestly? I feel like I’m just getting warmed up.

This journey has already brought so much to my life—and I believe it’s doing the same for others. That’s the beauty of showing up. You never know who needed to hear what you had to say that day.

So if you’ve been watching—thank you. Truly. If you haven’t tuned in yet, consider this your invitation.

Join me live every morning at 8 AM Eastern on Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram.
No fluff. No perfection. Just real talk, real life, and hopefully a little something to fuel your day.

Let’s keep going.
